Guest Author & Giveaway: Bronwen Evans featuring To Challenge the Earl of Cravenswood
Friday, November 2
One of my favorite ways to learn more about a book is when an author does a character interview with someone from their latest release. You sometimes hear authors say that their characters "speak" to them, so I think this is a great way to find out about the author/character relationship as well as the love story.
Bronwen Evans is my guest today to share with us her latest hero, Henry St. Giles, The Earl of Cravenswood...and if he's half as yummy as he is on the cover of his book then I think we are all in for a real treat! Enjoy!
~~~***~~~
Getting the down and dirty on Henry St. Giles, the Earl of Cravenswood.
Thanks for letting me stop by and introduce Henry St. Giles, the Earl of Cravenswood, the hero in my latest release, book #3 in the Wicked Wagers trilogy, To Challenge the Earl of Cravenswood.Bron: Welcome Henry. Don’t be shy. The ladies are dying to learn all about you.
Henry: Good afternoon. Shy? I’m never shy with the ladies.
Bron: (rolling her eyes) So, Henry, tell us a bit about you.
Henry: (shifts uncomfortably in his chair) There’s not much to tell. I’m thirty-two years old, and since meeting Amy, I’m a reformed rake. I grew up the second son in the Cravenswood family, with three elder sisters and an elder brother. Richard died two years ago and suddenly I became the Earl.
Bron: That must have been a shock. What changes did his death bring?
Henry: Well, I suddenly found myself needing to marry, and marry pretty quickly. I needed an heir you know. I couldn’t let my Uncle get hold of the Cravenswood estate. His gambling addicted son would bankrupt us in a year.
Bron: For a renowned rake, the idea of marriage must have been horrifying.
Henry: Not really. I always intended to marry, but I’ve only ever considered marrying a woman I could come to love. There was no way I was having a cold, business like arrangement, such as my parents. I was going to be a tad more choosey.
Bron: But I heard you were in love with your mistress and that she left you because you became the Earl.
Henry: (Nodding) I thought I was in love with Millicent but having met Amy Shipton I realize I loved Millicent, but I wasn’t in love with her. There is a difference. Millie did the right thing in leaving me. She knew I’d never find my soul-mate if she was still with me.
Bron: Soul-mate. That’s an interesting term. I didn’t think men thought in that way. When did you know Amy was your soul-mate?
Henry: (blushing) The night I drunkenly accosted Amy in my garden. Even though I didn’t know who she was, I knew she was the woman for me. She felt right in my arms. I felt it in my soul.
Bron: This sounds interesting? Accosted? A lady?
Henry: I thought I was dreaming. It’s all a big misunderstanding. Amy found me injured in my garden, plus a little worse for wear from drink. I’d taken a drunken tumble if you must know. In my dazed and inebriated state I mistook her for someone else-
Bron: Someone else-
Henry: (sheepishly) Millicent. I accidently said her name and Amy raced off. By the time I came to my senses, I knew I’d found a woman I wanted to learn more about but I had no idea who she was. All that was left behind was an emerald and diamond earring.
Bron: Gosh. What did you do next? How did you go about finding your mystery woman?
Henry: (leaning in) I don’t want to give too much away but I can say it would have been a damn sight quicker, less angst ridden and no misunderstandings, if Marcus Danvers, The Marquis of Wolverstone, had told me who the earring belonged to instead of playing his silly game.
Bron: But you got your lovely woman in the end?
Henry: I made a few huge mistakes along the way, I even thought —no I can’t say it-it’s sounds so terrible-
Bron: Go on…
Henry: I even thought Amy was having an affair with-
Bron: No! Who? Was she?
Henry: Of course not but – oh, bother, read the book to find out what my terrible friends did to me…and how I almost made the worst mistake of my life.
Bron: But you are happy now?
Henry: Deliciously so. Amy is everything I want and need. I love her deeply.
Bron: That’s so sweet. Thanks for stopping by and clearing up a few things. Have you got anything you’d like to ask the readers?
Henry: Yes, indeed. If you were to wake from a dream to find yourself in a passionate embrace with a man, who would you like that man to be?
Bron: Oooohh interesting! I obviously can’t pick you; you’re now a happily married man. Hmmm, it would have to be George ‘To Smooth To Move’ Clooney. Answer Henry’s question and I’ll pick one lucky commenter to WIN their choice of one of the Wicked Wagers eBooks. Open Internationally.
To live happily ever after...Henry St. Giles, the Earl of Cravenswood, longs to find his soul mate. Now that his two best friends, both reformed rakes, are happily married, the need becomes an obsession. When they challenge him to find a wife by the end of the season or marry his neighbor, the innocently alluring Lady Amy Shipton, he can’t believe his luck. He wins, either way. But a darkened garden, a case of mistaken identity, a drunken kiss, and a dropped emerald earring, leads Henry on a Cinderella hunt. He knows the woman he held in his arms could be the one he's searched for all his life. He just has to find her.
Lady Amy Shipton is determined to marry for love instead of sharing her husband like her mother did. So why did she let her handsome neighbor and romantic fantasy, the Sinful Saint as he's called for his bedroom prowess, seduce her in his garden? And what can she do when in the middle of their passionate encounter; he whispers another woman's name. Now Henry is hunting the owner of the earring Amy left behind, and she's determined to retrieve it before her identity is revealed. She's not about to give her father the ammunition he desperately wants to force her down the aisle.
Well this is pretty difficult for me since I happen to be a guy! I have no clue. o.o I guess I wouldn't mind waking up to see Hayden Christensen A.K.A. the teen version of Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars. ;)
I am going to be boring and pick my husband.
I need to pick my husband also -- ^_^
I'll go against the flow here and say I wouldn't pick either of my husbands! Maybe George Clooney or Pierce Brosnan..both hot numbers in my book!
I read book 1 in this series and loved it. Really need to get #2 and #3 to find out what happens to the other 2 guys! Thanks for the giveaway.
My sexy husband!!! But if he weren't in the picture, and to make this more interesting. Henry Cavill, loved him since The Tudors.
Good morning, everyone. It's a very wet and windy Satirday morning here in New Zealand and I just woken up! You all have superb taste in men! I love Daniel, Henry, and Gerard. Isn't that funny, they are all from the UK.
Oh this book looks oh so sexy. I would choose Gerald Butler for sure. Look forward to reading this. Thanks for giveaway/contest.
I once found an earring at a kids' baseball game and stared at strangers until I found the woman who was missing that earring. It was rather odd for people until I explained why I was intently staring at their ears. At least no one ran off before I could return it.
Hm, it had better be my boyfriend or I'd really get on his case afterward. But I suppose one of my favorite cover models would be an acceptable second choice. ;)
oh man it would have to be Robert Downey Jr yum! that man makes my eyeballs sweat :OD Carin
I can only wake up with one man? Dang. Ok, I've got to go with Craig Ferguson. He's age appropriate, his Scottish accent turns me on & he makes me laugh.
Since I don't want to rob the cradle, I'd have to go with Liam Neeson or Pierce Brosnan, both older but aging very well.
I'll pick either Manu Bennett and/or Dustin Claire. Yum! Both have great accents and are hot!
My husband is the only man whose passionate embrace I'd ever want to wake up in.
I would have to say Ian Somerhalder. For obvious reasons.
Definitely Joe Manganiello!
